Space Still Available for LACASA Gymnastics

There is still room for 5 students in the Monday (K-1) gymnastics class and 9 students for the Thursday (2-3) gymnastics class, which will both start in February pending registration. Email Melissa Long for more information. Two Weeks Left for the PS84/LACASA Raffle

We hope everyone is selling raffle tickets/books like hot cakes. If you need more, they can be picked up from the parent room or from the box on the top of the beverage machine in room 114 (aka the lacasa office).

We will be collecting the tickets stubs and money during the first week of February up to and including at the international pot luck dinner thatFriday evening (Feb 5th).

When you turn in your tickets, please put them in an envelope with the money and on the outside of the envelope, write the:
child/family's name
their class
and if applicable their lacasa group

We will be using this information to determine which family, class and lacasa group sold the most and wins their respective prizes.

Space Available In Alvin Ailey's Jazz & Hip Hop Class

Set to run from March 23-June 8. The class will run for 10 weeks on Tuesdays from 3:45-4:45PM. Teaching Artists from Alvin Ailey's Arts in Education & Community Projects will lead technique classes and coordinate dance performances with children grades 2-5. Jazz is a dance technique that incorporates ballet, modern and ethnic dance, with emphasis on accelerated, syncopated and isolation movements. As in all dance forms, jazz starts with a warm-up which includes locomotive exercises and stretching. Participants will also learn a short fun combination to contemporary music.
