Set to run from March 23-June 8. The class will run for 10 weeks on Tuesdays from 3:45-4:45PM. Teaching Artists from Alvin Ailey's Arts in Education & Community Projects will lead technique classes and coordinate dance performances with children grades 2-5. Jazz is a dance technique that incorporates ballet, modern and ethnic dance, with emphasis on accelerated, syncopated and isolation movements. As in all dance forms, jazz starts with a warm-up which includes locomotive exercises and stretching. Participants will also learn a short fun combination to contemporary music. Applications available under the forms tab of this website! For more information, call 212-874-3098 or email Ramon/Melissa atrcuevas@stryckersbay.org or mlong@stryckersbay.org
